Exalt! Vocal Talent Showcase Grand Finale
was held on Friday, September 26, 2014
at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte

The Exalt! Vocal Talent Showcase is an opportunity to highlight and encourage gifted Christian vocalists (16 years & older) as they praise Jesus through song.

CONGRATULATIONS to the TOP 3 WINNERS for 2014

Lawson GallowayCedric MeekinsAngi Waldrop

#1 – Lawson Galloway      #2 – Cedric Meekins        #3 – Angi Waldrop

Lawson Galloway is a vocalist at Elevation Church. He has a folk style and accompanied himself on the ukulele, which he taught himself just before the Exalt auditions. Lawson just turned 17.

Cedric Meekins is the Director of Worship and Fine Arts Ministry at Greater Providence and Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church. He has a deep Gospel style voice and accompanied himself on the keyboard.

Angi Waldrop is unique in that she sings Christian Blues. She has the raspy type of voice that  you would expect in a nightclub in Chicago or Memphis.  Angi wrote the lyrics to the two songs that she sang at Exalt.

Rise up, O Lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.
Psalm 21:12-13

We always pray that those in the audience who do not have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior will come to know Him through the heartfelt passion and emotion of the vocalists. We’re delighted to be able to say that several audience members have turned their lives over to Christ at the end of Exalt!  This year was no exception.

Eight audience members were so moved by the joy and glory of the Lord they experienced that they gave their lives to Jesus at the end of Exalt! 2014  PRAISE GOD!

This year’s winner, Lawson Galloway, will be featured on TBS (Trinity Broadcast Network) where he will sing and be interviewed on television! The top 3 were awarded the opportunity to cut their own mini-CD, courtesy of God’s Gang Records and All Things Possible Ministries.

Special Performances this year included:

Voices of Carolina - Children’s homeschool choir of 35 based in Rock Hill, SC and led by Kendra Husband.

Chalanda Frazier & Company – Along with Valerie Kasmir (owner of Lessons on the Lake), and 3 of her students, this group sang a song written by Chalanda called “Exalt the Lord.”

United Praise Dancers – These ladies from Statesville, NC are with Christian Outreach of the Piedmont, Inc. They surprised and delighted the audience with their transformation from old wobbly church ladies, to upbeat and lively praise dancers.
